Battery main switch

When installing hardware in a machine, you need to tell us if it’s connected before or after the main battery switch. This affects what data we can show, and which alerts you can receive.

Why do we ask about the main switch?

We need this information so we can:

  • Show the correct battery status

  • Send alerts if someone disconnects the hardware

  • Avoid unnecessary battery drain

What’s the difference?

Hardware connected before the main switch

  • We can send battery and disconnect alerts

  • The machine stays powered even when turned off

  • Battery may drain faster if the machine is unused for long periods

Hardware connected after the main switch

  • We can’t send battery or disconnect alerts

  • No risk of battery drain while the machine is idle

Where can I change this setting?

  • You select the option in the installation guide in the app

  • You can later change it on the machine’s detail page

Important: This setting must match how the hardware is physically installed. Not sure? Ask the person who installed the equipment.
