Position quality shows how strong the GPS signal is, based on how many satellites the device is connected to.
What status levels are there?
There are three levels of position quality:
Good - 20 or more satellites
OK - between 10 and 20 satellites
Weak - fewer than 10 satellites
How can I improve position quality?
To get the best GPS signal:
Place the device with a clear view of the sky.
Avoid having metal above the device, it weakens the signal.
The device can usually be mounted under the hood, but signal quality may drop if the vehicle is driven under a metal roof.
Mounting the device in an open space reduces the risk of interference, even if it doesn’t eliminate it completely.
