When should I use this guide?
Use this guide when you want to:
see the current temperature from your vehicles' temperature sensors
check whether a temperature is outside its limits
change alarm limits for one or more temperature sensors
see previous temperature alarms
choose how often reminders are sent for your company
get reminders while a temperature alarm is active
Prerequisites
You need to:
have access to Track and trace and the Temperature view
have access to vehicles with a temperature license and temperature sensors
use Fleet on the web to set up reminders
To choose the reminder interval for your company, you need to be an administrator.
How to do it
Overview
Go to Track and trace.
Select the Temperature tab.
The overview shows your vehicles, the current temperature from the sensors and when the device last communicated.
If a temperature is outside its limits, it is shown in red text with a warning symbol.
List
The list shows each individual temperature sensor. You can also change the sensors' alarm limits here.
Click the sensor you want to change.
To change several sensors at once, hold down Ctrl and click the sensors.
Click Edit or Bulk edit.
Change the settings.
Click Save changes.
Alarm history
Go to Alarm history to see temperature alarms for a selected period.
Select one of the preset time intervals, or click the calendar icon and enter your own time interval.
Reminders while a temperature alarm is active
While a temperature alarm is active, Fleet can send reminders at regular intervals until the temperature is back within its limits. The setting only applies to high and low temperature alarms.
Choose the reminder interval for your company
The administrator chooses how often reminders are sent. The interval applies to all users in the organization.
Go to Administration.
Select the Company tab.
Click the organization and select Edit.
Select the Settings tab.
Under Track and trace, click the chain icon to the left of Temperature alarm reminder interval. The setting is then no longer inherited from the parent organization and can be changed.
Select a value in Temperature alarm reminder interval.
Click Save.
You can choose 30 minutes, 1, 2, 4, 6, 12 or 24 hours, or enter a custom interval of at least 15 minutes. If no interval is selected, 30 minutes applies, or the interval selected for a parent organization.
Turn on reminders for yourself
Each user chooses whether they want to get reminders.
Click your name in the top right corner.
Select My notifications.
Go to Sensor alarm.
Turn on Remind me while alarm is active.
Check that you have selected the vehicles and notification types you want to use.
Click Save changes.
Reminders are sent by email, push notification or both, depending on the notification types you have selected. If you have a schedule for sensor alarms, no reminders are sent outside the schedule.
How long are reminders sent?
Reminders are sent for up to ten times the selected interval, counted from when the alarm was last triggered. For example:
30 minutes: up to 5 hours
1 hour: up to 10 hours
12 hours: up to 5 days
Reminders stop earlier if the temperature returns within its limits. If the alarm is triggered again, they start over.
Each recipient gets at most 25 emails per day. With a short interval, this limit can be reached before the maximum time has passed.
If it doesn't work
Check that:
the temperature sensor has alarm limits
the temperature alarm is turned on for you under My notifications
Remind me while alarm is active is turned on
the right vehicles are selected in your notification settings
you have selected email, push notification or both as notification type
push notifications are allowed for Infobric Fleet on your phone if you want to get push notifications
the alarm has not been active longer than the maximum time for the selected interval
you have not reached the limit of 25 emails per day
If Sensor alarm is not shown under My notifications, you probably do not have access to temperature data or vehicles with a temperature sensor. Contact the person who manages Fleet in your company.
Tips!
Choose a longer interval if alarms are often active for a long time, so that recipients do not get too many messages.
Use a schedule for sensor alarms if reminders should only arrive during working hours.
You can change alarm limits for several sensors at once by holding down Ctrl and selecting the sensors before you select Bulk edit.
