Check a vehicle's trip history

How to see where a vehicle has driven in Track and trace, and how to click the route to see time and speed.

Written by Tim Norstedt

When should I use this guide?

Use this guide when you want to:

  • see where a vehicle has driven during a specific period

  • follow the vehicle's position along the timeline

  • see time and speed at a specific place along the trip

Prerequisites

This is done in Fleet on the web. You need access to Track and trace.

Only work trips are shown in the trip history.

How to do it

  1. Go to Track and trace.

  2. Select the Trip history tab.

  3. Select the period in the top left corner. You can choose in two ways:

    • Click the clock icon and select a Time interval, for example Day. Move between periods with the arrows next to the date.

    • Click the calendar icon and enter Period start and Period end with date and time.

  4. Click the vehicle you want to check in the list on the right.

The vehicle's route is shown on the map.

Follow the trip on the timeline

Drag the black marker along the timeline at the top of the map to see where the vehicle was at different times.

Orange parts of the timeline show when the vehicle was in operation. The other parts show when it was standing still.

See time and speed along the trip

Click anywhere on the route on the map. A box shows information about the nearest recorded point:

  • Time – date and time

  • Speed – the vehicle's speed at that point

The box stays in the same place when you zoom. Close it with the cross, or click a new place on the route.

The speed is shown when:

  • Show speed is turned on for the organization

  • you have access to Driving behavior

  • the vehicle has a Driving behavior license

Good to know

  • Benefit cars are not shown in the trip history by default. This can be turned on in the organization settings in Administration. Only work trips are shown, never private trips.

Tips!

  • Click several places along the route to see how time and speed change during the trip.

  • Use an exact date and time when you want to review a short part of a trip.
