Calibrate engine and production hours

Learn how to correct a machine's recorded engine and production hours from History or while reporting service in Infobric Machines.

When should I use this guide?

Use this guide when you want to:

  • correct the hours in Machines so that they match the machine's hour meter

  • register a reading from an earlier date and time

  • calibrate hours separately or while reporting service

The hour values you can calibrate depend on how the machine is configured.

Requirements

You need:

  • access to Infobric Machines on the web

  • the hour values shown by the machine when the reading was taken

  • the date and time of the reading

How to do it

From the machine's history

  1. Sign in to Infobric Machines.

  2. Open Vehicles.

  3. Select the machine you want to calibrate.

  4. Open the History tab.

  5. Select Calibrate. The dialogue may be titled Calibrate hours.

  6. Check the Date and Time of the reading.

  7. Enter the correct value in Machine hours, Production hours or both fields, depending on which values are shown for the machine.

  8. Select Calibrate.

If you select a date in the past, the time automatically changes to 23:59. You can change the time if the reading was taken at a different time. Machines retrieves the recorded hour values for the selected point in time.

When calibration is complete, the dialogue closes and the updated hour values are shown in History.

When reporting service

  1. Open Service.

  2. Select the machine in the service list.

  3. Open the Service tab.

  4. Select Report service.

  5. Enter the date, time and other required service information.

  6. Expand Calibrate machine hours.

  7. Enter the hour values you want to calibrate.

  8. Select Calibrate and report service.

The calibration is saved together with the reported service.

If it does not work

First, check that:

  • you have opened the correct machine

  • the date and time match when the hour meter was read

  • you have entered at least one hour value to calibrate

  • you have entered the required information when calibrating while reporting service

If an expected hour field is not shown, this depends on how the machine is configured.

Tips

  • Read the machine's hour meter and note the date and time before you start.

  • Check the retrieved values before saving a calibration for a date in the past.

  • Check the machine name and hour values again before selecting Calibrate.
