Learn how to connect Volvo Construction Equipment machines to Infobric Machines using Machine connections and which machine data can be displayed.

Written by Oscar Karlsson

When should I use this guide?

Use this guide when you want to connect machines from Volvo Construction Equipment, also known as Volvo CE, directly to Infobric Machines through AEMP without installing a separate telematics device.

In Infobric Machines, the provider is shown as Volvo (Const. & Equip.). The connection uses the Volvo CE Commercial Services AEMP 2.0 Machine Data API.

When the integration is complete, the machines are normally created in Infobric Machines within one hour.

Prerequisites

You need:

  • access to Infobric Machines on the web

  • the Owner or Administrator role

  • confirmation that the relevant machines are available through Volvo CE's AEMP service

  • the credentials required through the Volvo CE Commercial Services Developer Portal or your Volvo CE contact

The following fields are shown in Infobric Machines:

  • Client ID

  • Client secret

  • Username

  • Password

  • Scope

Contact Volvo CE or your Volvo CE dealer if you do not have all the required information.

Connect Volvo CE

  1. Sign in to Infobric Machines.

  2. Open Telematics.

  3. Select Integrate machines.

  4. Open Machine connections.

  5. Search for Volvo (Const. & Equip.) or select the provider under Inactive.

  6. Enter the information shown under Enter authentication.

  7. If you need another set of credentials, select Add another authentication.

  8. Select Connect and collect data.

  9. Continue through Collect data and Complete the integration.

When the connection is complete, Infobric Machines starts collecting the machine data that Volvo CE makes available. New machines are normally created within one hour.

Which Volvo CE data is displayed?

Infobric Machines can display the following data when it is supplied by Volvo CE:

  • machine identification and basic machine information

  • hour meter

  • position

  • engine on or off

  • fuel used

  • idle hours

Availability depends on the machine, its equipment, the data recorded by Volvo CE and the services included in your Volvo CE agreement.

Volvo CE can supply both snapshot data and time-series data. Snapshot data shows the latest available value. Time-series data contains recorded values with timestamps and can provide historical data when this is included in the Volvo CE service.

If it does not work

Check that:

  • you selected Volvo (Const. & Equip.)

  • all required authentication fields are complete

  • the credentials are for the Volvo CE Commercial Services AEMP 2.0 Machine Data API

  • the account has access to the machines you want to connect

  • the AEMP service is included in your Volvo CE agreement

The Connect and collect data button is not available until all required information has been entered.

If no machines or data appear after the connection, wait up to one hour and try again. If the problem remains, first verify the permissions and available machines with Volvo CE, then contact support.

Infobric Machines displays the information received from Volvo CE. Missing or incorrect source data must be checked with Volvo CE or your dealer.

Tips

  • Confirm that you have the correct Volvo CE service and credentials before you begin.

  • Use Add another authentication if your machines are split across several Volvo CE accounts.

  • Available data can differ between machine models and agreements.

  • Learn more at Volvo CE API Products.

  • Never include real credentials in screenshots or support messages.
