Edit information about a machine

Use this guide when you need to update the information registered for a machine.

You need the Owner or Administrator role to edit machine information. The User role can open the machine and use the other features on the machine card, but does not see Edit machine on the Details tab.

How to edit a machine

  1. Sign in to Infobric Machines on the web.

  2. Open Fleet.

  3. Select the machine's name.

  4. Make sure that the Details tab is open.

  5. Select Edit machine.

  6. Change the relevant information.

  7. Select Save.

To leave edit mode without saving, select Undo. Your unsaved changes are discarded without another confirmation.

Information you can change

Under identification, you can change:

  • Name

  • Registration number

  • Serial number

  • Internal ID

  • VIN/PIN

Under machine information, you can change:

  • Manufacturer

  • Model

  • Category

  • Production year

  • Purchase date

  • Home depot

  • Default voltage

  • Battery master switch

Under emissions and time, you can change:

  • Emission class

  • Fuel type

  • Fuel consumption

  • Fuel consumption type

  • Time zone

  • Time zone type

You can also select Add tags to add or change the machine's tags.

Check the information used by the CO₂ report

For Machines to calculate the machine's CO₂ emissions, Fuel type, Fuel consumption and Fuel consumption type must be entered correctly.

Fuel consumption is entered in litres per hour.

Change the time zone

When Time zone type is set to Automatic, the time zone is set automatically and the Time zone field is locked.

To select a time zone yourself, change the type to Manual, then select the correct time zone.

Information that is managed elsewhere

The machine's location, address and connected telematics device information are shown in the machine panel but are not changed through Edit machine.

Service information is managed on the Service tab. Machine images are managed through View machine images.

If it does not work

Check that:

  • Name is not empty

  • Production year is 1900 or later

  • Fuel consumption is not a negative value

  • Default voltage follows the information shown next to the field

The interface states that the allowed values for Default voltage are 0 or 10–30.

If Edit machine is not available, check your user permissions. Only Owner and Administrator can edit machine information.

Tip

Information such as Name, Internal ID, Tag, Category and Home depot is used when searching or filtering the machine list. Clear and consistent information makes the machine easier to find.
