Common use cases
Use Place insight when you want to:
follow how machines at a specific place are used during a week or month
find machines used for more than 8 hours, outside working hours or not at all
search and filter for machines that need follow-up
download a report for selected machines
schedule a recurring weekly report
Prerequisites
You need the Owner or Administrator role. Place insight is included for all customers.
The machines must send the information Machines needs to calculate usage.
Machines configured for location only can appear in Place insight, but usage cannot be calculated from location data alone. When this applies to a machine, the page explains that its settings and wiring need to be changed in the app.
Get started
Sign in to Infobric Machines on the web.
Open Analytics.
Select Place insight.
Select the place and period you want to review.
Place insight shows one place at a time. Use the arrows beside the period to move to earlier or later weeks or months. You cannot move beyond the current period.
What you can do in Place insight
Select a place and period
Select a place and switch between weekly and monthly views. The heading shows the included date range, allowing you to confirm that you are reviewing the correct period.
Follow machine usage
The summary cards show:
Machines in use
Total machine usage
Overuse more than 8 hours
Outside working hours
Unused machines
Select View in list on a card to filter the machine list by that result.
Total machine usage shows the total number of hours the machines were used during the selected period. Overuse more than 8 hours adds up the time above eight hours per machine and calendar day.
Place insight uses the fixed working hours 06:00â18:00. Weekends, public holidays and usage outside this time range are shown as usage outside working hours.
Find the right machines
Use the search field and Filter to narrow the list. You can filter by Name, Internal ID, Category, Tag and Total. An active filter is shown with a number beside Filter. Select Remove all to clear all standard filters.
If a search or filter returns no results, select Reset search or Reset filter.
Under Columns, you can choose which information to display, and the cog lets you change the table density. The table can show the machine name, internal ID, category, tag, usage by weekday and total usage for the period.
You can sort Name, Internal ID, Category, Tag and Total by selecting the column heading. Each selection switches between ascending, descending and no sorting.
Interpret the table
Open Explanation â what each cell means if you need help interpreting the content.
A cell can show:
a usage duration
Not used
No data
Waiting for data
If the page indicates that a machine has location settings only, Machines cannot calculate usage from that information. Select Show these to find the affected machines.
Create and schedule reports
The report uses the same workflow as the Machine usage report, but limits usage to the selected place.
Select one or more machines and choose Generate report. In Report settings, you can:
select a date range
include machines without data
include detailed usage per machine
download the report immediately as an Excel file
enable Schedule report
When scheduling the report, enter its name and recipients, then select Weekly or Monthly under Report frequency. A weekly report for the previous week is sent on Monday mornings. You can follow scheduled reports under My reports.
Tips!
Check the selected place and period before comparing results or creating a report.
Select View in list on a summary card to quickly find the machines behind a particular result.
Enable Include machines without data if the report should also show machines without usage data.
If a machine has location settings only, its configuration and wiring must be changed before usage can be calculated.
