When should I use this guide?
Use this guide when you want to connect trucks from Volvo Trucks directly to Infobric Machines through AEMP without installing a separate telematics device.
In Infobric Machines, the provider is shown as Volvo and has the status Request. This means that the connection must be activated together with support and cannot be configured entirely through self-service.
For machines from Volvo Construction Equipment, use the Volvo (Const. & Equip.) integration instead.
Prerequisites
You need:
access to Infobric Machines on the web
the Owner or Administrator role
confirmation that the relevant trucks are available in Volvo Connect and can be shared through Volvo's AEMP service
support assistance to activate the connection
The Volvo product view contains fields for Client ID, Client secret, Username, Password and Scope. Because the integration has the status Request, do not try to configure these on your own. Support will confirm which information is required for your connection.
Connect Volvo Trucks
Sign in to Infobric Machines.
Open Telematics.
Select Integrate machines.
Open Machine connections.
Search for Volvo.
Confirm that the provider has the status Request.
Contact support and state that you want to connect Volvo trucks through AEMP.
Follow the instructions from support to provide or configure the required credentials.
When the connection is active and authentication is complete, Infobric Machines starts collecting the data made available by Volvo Trucks. New machines are normally created within one hour after the connection is completed.
Which Volvo Trucks data is displayed?
Infobric Machines can display the following data when it is supplied by Volvo Trucks:
machine identification and basic machine information
hour meter
position
engine on or off
fuel used
fuel level
idle hours
Availability depends on the vehicle, the data recorded by Volvo Trucks and the services included in your Volvo agreement.
Volvo Trucks can supply both snapshot data and time-series data. Snapshot data shows the latest available value. Time-series data contains recorded values with timestamps and can provide historical data when this is included in the Volvo service.
If it does not work
Check that:
you selected Volvo, not Volvo (Const. & Equip.)
the relevant trucks are available in Volvo Connect
the correct AEMP service is included in your Volvo agreement
support has activated the connection
the credentials are still valid
If the message There is a problem with this provider, please contact support appears, do not continue the connection on your own.
If no machines or data appear after support has completed the connection, wait up to one hour. If the problem remains, first verify the available vehicles and data in Volvo Connect, then contact support.
Infobric Machines displays the information received from Volvo Trucks. Missing or incorrect source data must be checked with Volvo Trucks or your dealer.
Tips
